Research Project

Identification and quantification of low-molecular weight bacterial nucleotide signaling molecules by HPLC-coupled mass spectrometry including ion mobility technology

The Research Core Unit Metabolomics headed by Prof. Dr. Roland Seifert (Medizinische Hochschule Hannover) provides measurements of bacterial signaling molecules using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry/metabolomics approaches. In addition to the quantification of a broad spectrum of metabolites including cAMP, cGMP, c-di-AMP, c-di-GMP, cGMP-AMP, ppGpp by triple quadrupole MS technology, yet unknown putative nucleotide second messengers can be identified using a quadrupole-TOF MS system.
